QIA appoints Peter Mortensen as Chief Risk Officer

​Doha, July 20, 2025 QIA is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Mortensen as its Chief Risk Officer. In this role, Peter will lead QIA’s Risk Department and drive the continued development and execution of a comprehensive enterprise-wide risk management strategy.

Peter brings more than two decades of international experience in risk management. He joins QIA from Russell Investments, a prominent US-based investment firm, where he led the global risk function. At the firm, he was responsible for risk oversight across a wide range of asset classes, covering market, liquidity, credit, and concentration risk, as well as performance measurement and attribution.

Earlier in his career, Peter held key positions at the Ministry of Finance and Nykredit Bank in Denmark, where he worked across CO₂ and OTC pricing, derivatives, fixed income research, and macroeconomic analysis.

He holds a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Copenhagen and was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Washington.
